Testing Schedule:Tested as received between the hours of 7 a.m.-3 p.m.; 7 days/week
Turn Around Time:STAT: NA
 Routine: 2 hours when received between 7 a.m.-3 p.m.; Specimens received after 3 p.m. are held until the following morning.
Collection Information:No special patient preparation is required. Obtain specimen by standard collection procedures.
Transport Information:Deliver to lab immediately. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory.
Reference Clients:If unable to deliver to the lab within 1 hour, store and transport at 2-8° C. Do not centrifuge. Specimen must be received in the lab within 7 days. If longer storage is required, store and transport the specimen at -20° C for up to 30 days.
Causes for Rejection:Improperly labeled, incorrect container, contaminated, insufficient quantity, incorrect/delay in transport.
Reference Range:Therapeutic: 100 - 400 ng/mL
 Potentially toxic: > 600 ng/mL
Additional Information:When elimination of cyclosporine is impaired, i.e., during cholestasis, cyclosporine metabolites may accumulate, and cyclosporine concentration may be overestimated.
